Gaming enthusiasts eager for Battlefield 6? Exciting news - Battlefield Labs playtesting resumes before the launch, and here's how to apply and what's on the horizon

Battlefield 6, the highly-anticipated new entry in Electronic Arts and DICE's iconic large-scale multiplayer first-person shooter franchise, is set to release on October 10. The game will be available across various platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC (Steam, EA app, Epic Games), and PS5.

The excitement surrounding Battlefield 6 is palpable, with preorders already available for the game. Players can secure their copy of the game on platforms such as Steam, Epic Games, Xbox, and PS5.

DICE, the developers behind Battlefield 6, have been meticulously preparing for the game's launch. They select players for the Battlefield Labs test phases based on criteria such as previous participation, engagement level, and feedback quality. This approach ensures that active and constructive community members are prioritized, optimizing testing effectiveness.

The Battlefield Labs playtests will continue until the game's release, with DICE assuring fans that more tests will be conducted before October 10. The focus of these tests will be on validating gameplay balance on new locations, comparing it against previously tested maps, and evaluating various features such as player-owned servers and the Battlefield Portal server browsing.

Things tested in Battlefield Labs can be in various stages of production, including alpha state, resulting in less polished or stable builds during gameplay. However, DICE is committed to refining these systems, with the community-run servers and server browser considered work in progress.

The developer has also addressed concerns about the price of the game, vowing to avoid selling Battlefield 6 for $80. The Standard Edition of the game will cost $69.99.

The Battlefield Labs playtests have already provided a sneak peek into the game's larger, more open stages, with an emphasis on vehicle play. The remake of Battlefield 3's Operation Firestorm and Mirak Valley have been featured in these tests.

The Battlefield Labs playtests have generated significant hype, with an Open Beta in August beating Call of Duty's player count record on Steam. The game was publicly shown off with an explosive multiplayer reveal that received high praise.

Despite the excitement, some players have expressed frustration about the Portal-only solution not including a full server browser for official servers. However, players can look forward to testing player-hosted servers and the Battlefield Portal server browser in upcoming Battlefield Labs sessions.

Sign-ups for Battlefield Labs playtests are open once again, providing an opportunity for players to contribute to the game's development and be a part of the Battlefield 6 experience before its official launch.
